Tallinn is the capital and most populous city of Estonia it's situated on a bay in north Estonia, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea.
First record, mentioning Tallinn is dated to 1219, though the city might have appeared on earlier maps and the evidence shows the area being populated for at least 5000 years. Tallinn received Lübeck city rights in 1248.
Today Tallinn is a popular tourist destination thanks to picturesque Tallinn Old Town (an exceptionally intact 13th century city plan, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List), a major port in the Baltic region and a center for IT companies and startups.
